Information Department
A reader emailed asking:

Do you have a "dictionary" of teen terms, I can refer to? What does the teen terms: blaze, and wutang mean? My teens won't tell me. Thank you.

I don't have a "dictionary," but I did direct her to these sites to fine out what blaze and wutang might possibly mean. I told her she wouldn't be happy with the answers and suggested she could try grounding her teenagers until their 23rd birthday.

Calls for an Apology
Another Rabid Lacrosse Fan, whose email listed him as "Zac," wrote to inform me that, what else, I don't know what I am talking about. He also went on to say, "Many lacrosse forums across the net would like an apology issued immediately." Apparently, lacrosse forums across the net are spending their time discussing how I don't know what I am talking about. I'm guessing this must be the lacrosse off-season or something?

Joys of Publication
One of the best parts of writing a column is hearing from readers. For instance, when this week's column, in which I poke good-natured fun at lacrosse, was posted on Saturday, I heard from several readers who happen to be big lacrosse fans. In fact, they take lacrosse WAY TOO seriously. They emailed to tell me in forceful terms how I don't know what I am talking about. Something I already knew. Many of these emails were sent Saturday night, making me wonder about the social lives of these particular lacrosse players.

Here is a small excerpt from one of the emails I recieved:

"...from the impression i go reading thisu can probably see what i think of u. i dont think there are words to describe what is wrong with u to not appreciate the gratest sport ever. and let me tell i think u are a complete p***y for complaining about how people could get hurt. shut the hell up and take it like a man. yet another saying
"what doesnt kill u makes u stronger" i have simply ran out of words to describe your stupidity and ignorance. farewell."

I stand corrected about lacrosse.

Blogging Update
So far this blog hasn't come up with anything worthwhile to blog on a regular basis. In the meantime, however, it will make occasional observations concerning the most important topics of the day, by which it means baseball. Although other topics will also be discussed, but only if - in the sole opinion of this blog - those topics are about a giant foam foot.

For the record, this blog is not very happy with how the Red Sox did on opening day. Playing the way they did won't cut it this year. It won't be enough just to make it into the playoffs. It won't be enough just to get into the World Series. With the talent on the team this year, they will only be successful by becoming World Champions, AND ending terrorism, AND finding proof of life on Mars, AND figuring out where the giant foam foot came from.
